Collection process is dissappointing - I fully support the mission and effort of the Salvation Army. I am sure that the majority of their volunteers are dedicated servants. However, there needs to be a change in policy for the receipt of donated goods. I dropped off two boxes of items, donated by my daughter, only to witness one of them being dumped in garbage by the silent and frowning volunteer who took them from the vehicle. We are all capable of throwing things away at home. We do not need to take the effort, time and expense, of driving them to your location, waiting 20 minutes in the driveway to witness them being discarded. I am glad my daughter (whose items these were) didn't witness the same. Being a volunteer for another organization, I am aware that not all items are usable/saleable, but there are better choices: 1) politely refuse to accept the donation and suggest another needy organization or 2) discard the items later, out of the sight of the public. Thank you.
One of the biggest Salvation Army's I've ever been in. They're also one of the cleanest and most organized. If it wasn't a half hour away from home, I'd be there more often. Also would be kinda nice if they had a restroom. Didn't see one in here.
This place is SOOOO slow accepting donations. The line is always long and they take forever. You are supposed to stay in your car and just let them law around in your trunk while they move at a snails pace. I prefer the mission of Salvation Army to that of goodwill but I would definitely go to goodwill instead if there were one nearby just because it’s so much more efficient. Disappointing.
They have a lot of high end clothes at rock bottom prices. There are so many items in here it can be hard to decide what to get. Going in here I'm like a kid in a candy store. Lol
Just visited for the first time in a while and the store looks absolutely beautiful. The home decor section specifically is really well organized and the displays are so cute! Cashier was very friendly and helpful.
I hate to send stuff to the landfill but I just can’t deal with these people anymore. I think they intentionally unload donations slowly so people will just leave. Last time the guy said he couldn’t take my “ladders”. I said they were foldable bar stools (from IKEA). He still said no. It’s just not worth the aggravation every time.
Lots of parking, well seen from Grand River, good selection of donated goods
Rejected donation. Waited in line 25 minutes while the single unloader at the donation center went through every bag and box in the cars in front of me. I had 3 pairs of cross country skiis with boots and poles. It is October. They told me to come back when the snow falls.
